This Diamond Princess model is handcrafted from hardwood and painted as original. It is fully assembled and ready for display. This model boat has been built to exact scale using the plank on frame method. This model ship is built using exotic woods such as Rosewood, Mahogany, Teak and other exotic tropical wood from around the world.

HISTORY:

The new Diamond Princess is the largest and most innovative vessel in the Princess fleet. The unique Club Fusion combines a nightclub, bar, casino, and cabaret for the ultimate in entertainment. Amazing views abound with 750 balcony staterooms. The Asian-themed spa features an outdoor sunken terraced pool, while the conservatory has a sliding glass roof. Dine and snack at five eateries, including a trattoria and a 24-hour bistro. A nine-hole putting course with 2 golf simulators is the perfect spot to relax while your teenagers hang out at a pool of their own. Later, dance under the stars at Skywalkers disco, catch a Broadway-style show, or surf in one of the largest Internet cafes at sea.

Diamond Princess is a large cruise ship owned and operated by Princess Cruises. She began operation in March 2004 and primarily cruises in Alaska during the summer and the Mexican Riviera in the winter. Her only sister ship is the Sapphire Princess as both were built in Japan by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

The ship's hull was originally called the Sapphire Princess. Construction was delayed when a huge fire swept through the ship during construction. Because the ship's completion would be delayed, her sister ship which was being constructed at the same time assumed the role of the Diamond. This name swap helped to keep the delivery date of the current Sapphire on time, while delaying the delivery of the Diamond just a bit.
